HCV: Positive HCV will reflex to Hepatitis C Virus Quantitative by NAAT (HCVQT). 1.5mL of serum (0.8 mL min) is the required specimen. When HCV is reactive (low positive), supplemental testing for HCV RNA is recommended to rule out active HCV infection. HCV reactive probably indicates past or present HCV infection. Supplemental serological testing is not performed. More specific testing can be requested if indicated.
Hepatitis B Surface Ag: If hepatitis Bs antigen is reactive or presumptive positive, then confirmation will be performed.
