Collection Instructions

Blood must be drawn by Phlebotomy only. Special draw includes use of discard tube first, then 2 Greiner blue tops, then lavendar. Sample should be drawn with 21 guage needle. Avoid using syringe. Mix gently.

Collection Volume

2 mL discard tube, two 1.8 mL blue/white top (blue cap with a white ring) tubes, 1.0 mL EDTA

Minimum Collection Volume

2 mL discard tube, two 1.8 mL blue/white top (blue cap with a white ring) tubes, 0.5 mL EDTA

Rejection Criteria

Hemolysis, refrigeration, clotted sample, QNS, transport delay, use of pneumatic tube

Specimen Storage and Stability

DO NOT REFRIGERATE. Test within 4 hours of collection.
