This test expands into individual future orders in cascading manner in which the subsequent test does not release until the current test is collected. TEST INCLUDES: 2 hour post prandial glucose and option to choose fasting if ordered by provider

Patient Preparation
If physician has also ordered fasting blood work:
Verify that the patient has been fasting for 10-12 hours prior to blood draw. Draw fasting sample. Instruct the patient to eat a good meal that should be completed within 15-20 minutes. Instruct the patient to return to have their blood drawn 2 hours from the time they started their meal.
If physician has not ordered fasting blood work:
Verify that the patient has eaten a good meal 2 hours prior to time of draw.
If patient has not eaten, instruct the patient to eat a good meal that should be completed within 15-20 minutes. Instruct the patient to return to have their blood drawn 2 hours from the time they started their meal.
If physician has ordered a 2 hour Post Prandial(PP) post glucola (glucose solution):
Follow the Physician�s Order for grams of glucose solution to be given.
Verify that the patient has been fasting for 10-12 hours prior to blood draw. Draw fasting sample. Patient is given the glucola to be ingested within 5-10 minutes. Draw specimen 2 hours after patient has completed ingesting the glucola.
