Collection Instructions
Routine venipuncture or fingerstick-heelstick microtainer collection; invert immediately and gently mix with anticoagulant.
Rejection Criteria
Any specimen stored at Room Temperature >24 hours old; Any specimen stored at 4℃ >48 hours old; Hemolyzed, clotted, diluted with IV fluid, tube that is not filled with minimum volume, improperly labelled tube.
Specimen Storage and Stability
Specimen cannot be used if stored over 24 hours at room temperature or 48 hours at 4℃. Specimen must not be frozen. Specimens should be transported to the Clinical Laboratory.
