Collection Instructions
The specimen is collected by the patient per his physician’s instructions. The specimen should be maintained at room temperature and delivered to a ProMedica laboratory draw site within 24 to 48 hours of collection. Note that lubricants and powder on commercial condoms may contain spermicides which could affect results and therefore should be avoided.
Rejection Criteria
As of December 1, 2022 any specimen that is not expelled directlly into sterile cup will be rejected, no condoms will be accepted.
